AMRITPEX 2023- National Philatelic Event Organized by Indian Postal Department

The Indian Post Office organized the National Philatelic Exhibition, AMRUTPACK-2023, in New Delhi (Pragati Maidan) from 11 to 15 February to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. This program included stamps, miniature sheets, and photographic collections on the history and culture of the country. The AmritPack-2023 exhibition was meant to be a part of the ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence celebrations. It was based on five themes – Amrit Mahotsav of Independence and New India, Yuva Shakti, Nari Shakti, Nature, and Wildlife, and Culture and History of India. Communications and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav while inaugurating the exhibition said that the postal department will start a digital Philately program where it will Instagram reels or youtube short videos about stamps on social media platforms. The interest of those who collect postage stamps and miniature sheets will increase and the importance of Indian culture in the world will also increase.

 

The Reason Why AMRITPEX 2023 was in News

Philately collectors displayed their philatelic and miniature sheet collections at the exhibition, which included around 1,400 frames, apart from digital displays on India’s art, history, heritage, and culture. For the first time in India, you will be able to describe Indian civilizations and culture by listening to and seeing the story of Indian postage stamps in digital form. Through this demonstration, the postage stamps and miniature leaflets launched by the Indian Post Office will reach more and more people in India. There was also an opportunity for the exhibition winners to participate and display their collections in various international philatelic exhibitions. A Philatelic Exhibition highlighting the transformational journey of India Post was also displayed during the event. Live counter of India Post’s new digital services, interactive human stories of postal services impacting lives of the common man, celebrating voices of local and unsung heroes, and highlighting Philately as a tool for soft diplomacy G20 Pavilion India Post was the main attraction.

The Prime Minister appreciated this initiative of the department through his Twitter handle. Considering doing this exhibition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it will be very helpful for the Indian daughter to move forward. All the activities of AMRUTPEKS 2023 were informed to people from all over the country through various social media platforms. To keep alive the rich hobby of Philately collecting, India Post launched this special Philatelic Promotion Program. If Indian students are interested beyond Indian postage stamps and miniature sheets, this program run through the Government of India can give a new direction to Indian culture and civilization.
