In India, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is solely authorized to issue Bank Notes. It is similar to the way other Central Banks work all over the World. We all know that RBI has issued currency notes on the Mahatma Gandhi Series of various denominations of Rs 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 & 2000. It is well known that the Indian rupee is the currency of India having INR as its currency code. The currency symbol is ₹. Many new currency notes have been introduced since November 2016 under Mahatma Gandhi’s Series (new).
