Bhagwan Baba’s full name Aabaji Tubaji Sanap Patil was a prominent social reformer and saint of the Varkari sect of Maharashtra. He was born on July 29, 1896 during Shravan Krishna Panchami in Supe Ghat Savargaon of Patoda taluka of Beed district. His childhood nickname ‘Aaba’ or ‘Aabaji’ suggests he was born in the rainy season. Bhagwan Baba dedicated his life to spreading social and cultural teachings primarily through Kirtan throughout Maharashtra.
