Indian Post Office launched India-Philippines joint issue, Butanding, and Ganges Dolphin Miniature Sheet to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Philippines. India and the Philippines jointly established their diplomatic and economic relations on 26th November 1949 after both countries gained independence. The Gangetic river dolphin is the national fish of India. The Gangetic river dolphin is a freshwater dolphin found mainly in the Ganges, the Brahmaputra, and other rivers and their tributaries flowing through Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. The zoological name of the Gangetic dolphin is Platanista gangetica. During the floods, the river dolphins used to live in the plains and tributaries of the Ganges.
