Tiatra is a unique theatrical form of Goa. It is performed in Goa as well as all over India and abroad. In 1892, the Tiatr of Goa was created in the neighbours’ state of Bombay “whose new name is Mumbai”. This submission’s first name was the Italian Bhurgo. On this occasion, Indian Post Department Published Goan Tiatr a set of two miniature sheets. Tiatr is considered a mirror of Goan culture. The Tiatr drama of Goa consists of seven acts and also Songs are sung in the middle of the play. Tiatr in theatrical form has been the patronage of the Christian community, but Hindu artists have been performing in Tiatra for the last few years.
