Prithviraj Chauhan was known as a warrior who opposed the Muslim ruler and ruler of the Muslim Ghurid dynasty. In 1192 CE, Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated in the Second Battle of Tarain and was executed after his defeat. On this occasion, the Indian Post department issued the Prithviraj Chauhan Commemoration Miniature Sheet, which is a set of four Miniature Sheets on 20th April 2018.  Prithviraj Chauhan was a king of the Chauhan dynasty, who ruled the region of Sapadalaksha, making his capital at Ajmer. In 1177 CE, Prithviraj Chauhan inherited a kingdom that extended from Thanesar to Jahazpur in the south, intending to expand by military actions against the kingdoms and by defeating the Chandelas. Prithviraj led many Rajput kings and defeated the army led by Muhammad Ghori in 1191 AD.
