21-10-1986: Indian Police Miniature Sheet

Indian Police Miniature Sheet was issued on 21 October 1986. It was released by the Indian Postal Department.  It was published to mark the celebration of the 125^th anniversary of the Indian Police. This miniature sheet contains a set of two postage stamps. This post stamp is designed by the Shri Ahmed Ali, Miss Nenu Bagga and Alka Sharma. The size of the postage stamp is 3.91 x 5.80. This postage stamp was printed at India Security Press. This miniature sheet depicts the journey of 125 years of Indian Police. In India, the Police organization was established in 1861 by the Act V of 1861. This year, the Indian police celebrate 125 years of organized policing. The Moghul system of policing was used during the starting period of the Indian Police. After the first Independence war of 1857, the government of India allotted a commission in 1860 for increasing the efficiency of the Indian police.  In 1861, the House of Commons in England approved the Police Act, Indian Panel code and Indian Police legally.
