The United Nations Educational Impact celebrated the 800th year of Urs of Khwaja Garib Moinuddin Chishti in the form of a seminar at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 26 November 2012. On this occasion, Indian Post Department published a set of two 800th years of Urs of Khwaja Garib Nawaz Moinuddin Chishti Miniature Sheet. Chishti Mu’in al-Din Hasan Sijji known as Garib Nawaz by the Muslims of India Shaikh Mu’in al-Din was a Persian Sunni Muslim. Garib Nawaz settled in the Indian subcontinent in the 13th century and propagated the famous Chishtiyya order of Sunni mysticism. After Iltutmish came to Delhi, Mu’in al-Din moved from Delhi to Ajmer and he was influenced by the writings of the famous Sunni Hanbali scholar.
