The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage INTACH is a non-charitable organization under the Societies Registration Act, of 1860. In 2007, the United Nations granted INTACH a Special Consultative Status with the Social Council. The Indian Postal Department released a set of four Heritage Monuments Preservation by INTACH on the occasion. INTACH was founded in 1984 in New Delhi, India with a vision to create an organization to encourage and lead awareness and conservation. Since 1984 INTACH has pioneered the conservation and protection of India’s natural and today is the largest membership organization for conservation. In 2007, INTACH signed an agreement with the Heritage Network of Australia to collaborate on South Asian regional initiatives.
