28-12-1985: Indian National Congress Miniature Sheet

Indian National Congress Miniature Sheet was released on 28^th December 1985. It was issued by the Department of India Post. This miniature sheet was published to mark the celebration of the centenary of the Indian National Congress party. It was founded on 28^th December 1885. It contains 4 postage stamps from the Indian National Congress. The stamp was printed at India Security Press, Nasik in se-tenant blocks and the size of the stamp was 35.5 x 48.3 mm. These stamps contain the image of all past presidents of the Indian National Congress including Mahatma Gandhi who was the President in 1924. At the begging of Independence, the Congress party became a more essential party to tackle constant opposition from the British Government. The party advocated in the favour of the independence movement of India because it provide a new political system.  At that time, Congress was a major party in India. Congress party play the main role in the independence of India.
