The heritage sites located in the state of Rajasthan include six forts namely Amer Fort, Chittorgarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh Fort, Jaisalmer Fort, Ranthambore Fort and Gagron Fort. All those forts testify to the power of all the Rajput princely states of Rajasthan. On this occasion, the Indian Post Department released a set of 6 miniature sheets titled Hill Forts of Rajasthan – UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. The urban centre is believed to have been founded on Indian traditional principles, with many buildings including palaces, trading centres and temples.
