The 2002 United Nations Climate Change Conference took place in New Delhi, India. The conference included the 8th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, New Delhi: Mangroves. On this occasion, the India Post department issued a set of four Miniature Sheets on 30th October 2002. The conference adopted the Delhi Ministerial Declaration and called for technology transfer by developed countries and efforts to detract from the effect of climate change on developing countries. The New Delhi Work Program on Article 6 of the Convention was also approved. The Kyoto Protocol can enter into force after it has been ratified by 55 countries, which account for 55 per cent of the world’s 1990 carbon dioxide emissions.
