World AIDS Day is observed every year on 1st December and is a global reminder of the ongoing fight against HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). World AIDS day was established in 1988 by the World Health Organization (WHO). This day is a day for people around the world to unite in the fight against HIV. This event offers a chance to demonstrate solidarity with individuals living with HIV and commemorate those who have passed away due to AIDS.  In 2006, as is the case every year, World AIDS Day was observed on December 1st. On this occasion, the Indian Postal Department released an India Stamp in the name of World AIDS Day. The main aim of World AIDS Day is to create awareness among the people awareness about HIV and AIDS.
