Mahatma Gandhi lost a year at school due to marriage. But after some time he started his studies. Mahatma Gandhi had dropped out of the inexpensive college he could afford in Bombay. In November 1887, the 18-year old Gandhi graduated from high school, in Ahmedabad. In January 1888 he registered at Samalads College in Bhavnagar then the sole degree-granting institution of higher training in the area. But he dropped out and back to his family in Porbandar.
