Solapur martyrs were popular for the sacrification of Mallappa Dhanshetti, Shrikisan Sarada, Jagannath Shinde and Abdul Rasul Kurban Hussain for the freedom of India. In 1930, to destroy the freedom association of India, British Government had applied for a “Shoot at sight” order under martial law in Solapur. Shrikisan Sarada along with, Jagannath Bhagwan Shinde, Abdul Rasool Qurban Hussain, and Mallappa Dhanshetty named under martial law. The British Government wanted to quell the freedom movement by punishing all four to death.

Solapur martyrs were hanged on 12th January 1931. The British Government selected 12th January, because this day was the first day of the Local Fair of Siddharameshewar Temple. They wanted to terrify the local people. Collector Knight intentionally created proof against Mallappa Dhanshetti, Shrikisan Sarada, Jagannath Shinde and Abdul Rasul Kurban Hussain in involvement in the deaths of two policemen in an unidentified mob attack. India obtained freedom by asset of the sacrification Solapur Martyrs.
