45.00

The Indralata temple, located in Bangomunda block near Ranipur-Jharial in Balangir district, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to legend, it was here that Lord Indra first worshipped Lord Shiva and built the temple. The Inderlat temple is a fully preserved brick temple with a unique vimana commissioned by Rekha Deula. Inside the innermost sanctum, there is a newly placed linga, as well as ancient depictions of Vishnu, Kartikeya, and Uma-Maheshwara. The original Shivling was dislodged during an apparent attack, as evidenced by the sandstone Shivling found outside the temple.
