Kubernath Ray was a popular teacher, author and scholar of Hindi, Sanskrit and English Literature. He was also popular for writing essays in Hindi. He worked as a professor at Nalbari College, Assam in English Department from 1958 to 1986. He was Principal of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati PG College, Ghazipur, UP from 1986 to 1995. He achieved Moortidevi Award from Bharatiya Jnanpith. He was honored with many awards from UP, WB, and Assam Government for his dedication to writing essays. Kubernath Ray was born on 26th March 1993 in village Matsa of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh, India in the Bhumihar family. He completed his early schooling at village Matsa. From Queen’s College, Varanasi, he completed his matriculation. For higher studies, he moved to Banaras and joined Banaras Hindu University (BHU). From Calcutta University, he completed his master’s in English Literature. He began teaching in Vikram Vishvavidyalaya but after some time he shifted to Nalbari, Assam and started working as a lecturer of English literature. After some time, He joined Swami Sahajanand Mahavidyalaya and retired as its principal.
