Indian National Congress politician Shyama Charan Shukla held the post of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh three times. He was born in a Kanyakubja Brahmin family in Raipur on 27th February 1925. Shyama Charan Shukla’s father Ravi Shankar Shukla was a lawyer and Indian National Congress politician. His father also served as the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, representing Central Province and Berar. To commemorate his political career, the India Post Department issued a postage stamp on his name. His younger brother Vidyacharan Shukla was also a Congress leader, Union Minister and nine-time Lok Sabha MP.
