Punjab National Bank is a Public Sector Enterprise (PSE) or Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) founded in May 1894. It is working under the Indian government. It is controlled under the Act, of 1934 and the Banking Regulation Act, of 1949 by the Reserve Bank of India. On 19 May 1894, it was registered in the Indian Companies Act, with its first office in Anarkali Bazaar, Lahore (present-day Pakistan). The main objective of the funding bank is to create a truly national bank.
