Aditya Vikram Birla was a prominent figure in the Indian industry. He was born on November 14, 1943, in the famous Birla family. Aditya Vikram Birla excelled academically while displaying remarkable business acumen from an early age. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA and later did an MBA from London Business School. The Aditya Birla Group, founded by his father Baldev Das Birla in 1857, grew into a global conglomerate with diverse interests including cement, aluminum, textiles and telecommunications. The Indian Postal Department issued the Aditya Vikram Birla India Postage Stamp in his honor in Mumbai.
