In 1922, Ram Chandra met his Guru Ram Chandra, a spiritual guide living in Fatehgarh, from whom he received the practice of Raja yoga meditation. He attempted to adapt and modernize this practice, leading to the establishment of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission in 1945. A non-profit organization aimed at spreading his developed method, initially named Sahaj Marg. Ram Chandra, also known as Babuji, was from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh in northern India. He devoted most of his life to Rajayoga meditation, known as Sahaj Marg. He established Shri Ram Chandra Mission in 1945 and named it in honor of his guru Ram Chandra. Ram Chandra was born on April 30 1899, in a prosperous family in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Rai Bahadur Shri Badri Prasad, held the prestigious post of Honorary Special Magistrate First Class. On the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Ram Chandra ji, the Indian Pulses Department issued a postage stamp in his honor.
