PERMANENT COMMISSION TO WOMEN OFFICERS IN INDIAN ARMY was granted on 16 July 2020 under the direction of the Supreme Court. They issued Government Sanction Latter (GSL) regarding granting permanent commission to women officers in the Indian Army on 17th Feb 2020. On 16th July 2020, GSL was granted consideration for Permanent Commission to women officers with their Male counterparts. A special section board was created in September 2020 and it approved 422 out of 615 women officers for grant of Permanent Commission.
