They issued Government Sanction Latter (GSL) regarding granting permanent commission to women officers in the Indian Army on 17th Feb 2020. On 16th July 2020, GSL was granted consideration for Permanent Commission to women officers with their Male counterparts. A special section board was created in September 2020 and it approved 422 out of 615 women officers for grant of Permanent Commission.

PERMANENT COMMISSION TO WOMEN OFFICERS IN INDIAN ARMY is a big step regarding women’s encouragement. After that women can also join and work in Army like men to defend the borders and to protect the nation. The first step was taken in 2008, Government of India approved Permanent Commission for women in AEC and JAG, which became successful in 2010. After that on 15 August 2018, the Prime Minister declared that women officers would be qualified for deliberation for granted Permanent commission in all eight Arms and Services.
