India and Oman have strong ties based on geography and culture to foster cordial relations. India and Oman established diplomatic relations in 1955 and then upgraded it to a strategic partnership in 2008. Thrown light on the depth of this special friendship, India invited Oman as a guest country during its presidency of the G-20. To Commemorate the extensive historical friendship and cultural similarities between India and Oman, an India-Oman joint stamp was issued under an agreement between India Post and Oman Post. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this collaboration was signed by the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India and Oman Post on March 21, 2022.
