Rao Jaimal Rathore was popular as the greatest warrior of Bharatvarsha. He was one of the most powerful and top politicians at that time, he impacted many events at the local and grand levels. He provided a stout and resolute fight against the attacking force in the Chittor war. After the tragic war of Chittor, as a mark of respect for the great fighter, a stone statue of Jaimal seated on an elephant was inaugurated at the main gate of Agra fort.

Rao Jaimal Rathore was born on 17th September 1507. He was the eldest son of the Rao Veeramdeo, who was emperor of Merta. In 1544, after the death of his father Rao Veeram Dev, Rao Jaimal Rathore became the emperor of the Merta, he ruled over the rich kingdoms of Merta as well Badnore. Rao Jaimal got immortal fame and glory during the Mughal attack of 1568 because he created a strong defense of the fort of the Chittor.
