Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav was an Indian independence activist, journalist and writer. He was born on 5th May 1908 in Gaganbawda, a small village in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. His journalism career began with the Mumbai-based weekly Tej, after which he worked for various local publications. Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav founded a Marathi daily Pudhari in 1937. Pudhari is a famous Marathi daily newspaper published in the regions of Maharashtra, Goa and North Karnataka. The Indian Postal Department issued a postage stamp acknowledging the contributions of Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav.
