Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav actively participated in the activities of the Satyashodhak Samaj founded by Jyotirao Phule in 1873. Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav, inspired by the Satyashodhak Samaj, joined the Dandi March in 1930 and founded the Kolhapur district unit of the Satyashodhak Samaj. Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav joined Ambedkar in advocating for the upliftment of Dalit communities. He received the Kakasaheb Limaye Award from Pune Press Club in 1983. Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav was an Indian independence activist, journalist and writer. He was born on 5th May 1908 in Gaganbawda, a small village in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. His journalism career began with the Mumbai-based weekly Tej, after which he worked for various local publications. Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav founded a Marathi daily Pudhari in 1937. Pudhari is a famous Marathi daily newspaper published in the regions of Maharashtra, Goa and North Karnataka. The Indian Postal Department issued a postage stamp acknowledging the contributions of Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav.
