Gayatri Teerth Shantikunj was started by Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya. It was established on a small piece of land, later it extended over a large area and was popular as Gayatri Nagar. Shantikunj has been visited by many leaders, scholars and saints and several higher-level religious functions were celebrated. In 1990, Sharaddhanjali samaroh was organized The memory of Acharya, which was attended by lakhs of followers. In November 2000, Srijan Sankalp Vibhuti Mahayajna was organized Yugsandhi Mahapurashcharan, which was joined by 4 Million followers.

Description
Golden Jubilee Year – Gayatri Teerth, Shantikunj is celebrated in June 2021 as a center of pilgrimage, religious awareness and social development. It was established in 1971. It was situated near the city of Haridwar on the bank of the holy Ganga in Gayatri Nagar. It was a religious place. It is also the center of Global Gayatri Pariwar. Shantikunj campus is spread across several acres, its campus constitutes libraries, temples, lecture theatres, mediation and yoga hall, recording studio farms, a medical clinic and simple residential quarters.
