20-08-2019 : A Indian Stamp on Mesopotamia

In Mesopotamia, after early setbacks to the selected Indian Expeditionary Force ‘D’, the series of actions which concluded in the capture of Baghdad fully changed the army condition and provide political results of far successful implication. India’s share in the success of this important victory involved in offering over three-quarters of the army employed, over three-quarters of the river craft and the entire railway product and people, without it operations would have been difficult. Their Indian army was awarded the Victoria Cross for the performance of best work in Mesopotamia.
