29-11-2008: Birth Centenary of Buddhadeva Bose Indian Stamp


Buddhadeva Bose was an Indian Bengali writer and educationist of the 20th century. He was referred to as a Poet and was a versatile writer who also wrote novels, short stories, plays, and essays. He was an influential critic and editor. He is recognized as one of the five poets who introduced modernity to Bengali poetry. Buddhadeva Bose studied the English language at Dhaka University. He was a resident of Jagannath Hall. He scored the highest possible score in the first Bennett Intelligence Test with his fellow student, NurulMomen. Buddhadeva Bose completed his MA in English there, and then he moved to Kolkata in 1931. He had no job and offered private lessons to earn money.
