5-4-2023: Gauhati High Court India Stamp

The Gauhati High Court is seen as the emerging High Court of Assam. The Constituent Assembly of Assam passed a resolution on 9^th September 1947 that it was necessary to establish a High Court for the State of Assam, and then the Governor General of India appointed the Assam Court. On this occasion, Indian Postal Department released the India Stamp of Gauhati High Court. The Gauhati High Court was established on 5^th April 1948 in Assam under the Indian Act 1935 by the first Chief Justice of Assam, Sir R.F. Lodge appointed.
